2nd Floor Hallway and Stairs Project Completed

During the summer after reviewing areas of needed improvement, the Board made the decision that the second floor hallway and stairs and third floor landing needed attention.  After looking at several options, the choice was made to remove the carpet and refinish the original hardwood flooring.  Through the Nittany Co-op, Blue Mountain Flooring was contracted to do the work. During the sanding process, several stair treads were found to be broken and in marginal shape, therefore the treads from the second to the third floor have been replaced.

Before and After

This maybe the first time in 30 years the hall has not been carpet.  Hopefully we will see many years of useful life from the refinishing.

The 2nd floor looks like it did when the house was first built - kind of nice.
