Chapter Wins 2022 Homecoming Competition
This year Omega chapter and our partners - Gamma Sigma Sigma and PLL, were incredibly happy to finish in first place in the 2022 Homecoming Competition. With the win we won a sum of money to donate to our philanthropy of choice, which of course is The USO.
This year our theme we designed around was the movie Jurassic Park Our float was a dinosaur walking through Penn State gates, like the ones that lead to the field at Beaver stadium, the banner was titled “Jurassic University Park” (playing off of the movie Jurassic Park and PSU’s University Park) and our slogan was “Chomp the Comp” (as in competition).
It took 5 days to put the float together and it utilized a structure of mostly PVC piping and wood. The tissue paper was glued together on chicken wire inside, and laid over the PVC skeleton.
The first place announcement was made during halftime of the whiteout game vs Minnesota. Our Homecoming chair, Keegan Sobczak, deserves a special shoutout for all the work he put in along with the members from PLL and Gamma Sigma Sigma.
