Volunteer Opportunity at Omega Chapter
Hello Brothers,
Good afternoon, and I hope you are well! My name is Zack Brown, and I am the Senior Director of Training & Development for Theta Chi International Headquarters. My primary role for the fraternity is to recruit, train, and accredit members of our Chapter Advisory Boards across the country. I am seeking local advisers to assist the Omega chapter at Penn State University. This is an incredible opportunity to donate talent and minimal time to your fraternity and to the future leadership potential of the chapter’s new collegians.
As you know, the key to any successful chapter is local alumni support. We are currently in the process of rebuilding the Omega chapter. Leading this effort are two Field Executives from our International Headquarters, Daniel Mendoza and Jorge Robles (copied). Daniel and Jorge are both on campus and recruiting young men to join our Omega/Penn St. chapter. To have a sustainable chapter, we are in need of alumni volunteers to mentor and advise the collegians by joining the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB).
What is being asked of you? Ultimately, your time, passion, and experience. The following discusses the importance of having and excitement of serving on a CAB:
Purpose of a Chapter Advisory Board:
Share expertise and experience
Monitor progress of chapter goals
Serve as a consistent voice of reason
Develop a positive relationship between alumni and the collegiate chapter
Be positive role models
Provide consistency during officer transitions
(Bare Minimum) Time Expectations:
Meet once a year with Executive Board Officers (in person)
Attend initiation once a year (in person)
Communicate with Executive Board mentee at least once a month (phone or in person)
Attend chapter meetings at least once a month (on a rotation for local alumni or via skype/other)
This message was sent out to all alumni from the Omega chapter. The more positive alumni we have involved, the easier it is to support the group and share in the excitement! If you are interested in serving as an adviser, or know of a brother who would be a great adviser please contact either me at 859-496-6409 or (zbrown@thetachi.org). If you’re living far away, there is still value in having your support too.
Fraternally,
