33rd Annual Theta Chi Open Reminder - May 2, 2014

This year’s event will be held as it is every year on the First Friday in May, May 2nd. Details include the following:

• The Course: Back by popular demand the Shoregate Golf Club, located in Oceanview, NJ. .

• First tee time is 11 AM on Friday May 2nd. Greens fees are $79 same as last year and are payable at the Clubhouse.

• Post game banquet will once again be held at a house located in the Avalon/Stone Harbor area. Address is 160 103rd Street, Stone Harbor.

So far 20 Brothers will be attending and 14 are playing golf. Bob Losinger just reported in and said he cannot make this year’s open. So the number one (Mausser) and two seed (Losinger) for the past few years will not be attending this year’s Open. Kind of opens the door a bit.  Matt Mankus who finished second in 2012 and third in 2013, both with sub 90 rounds has to be considered the favorite, even if Brother Mooney does come out of hiding and attends this year’s Open. 

Brother Cunningham has secured a house that he describes as the nicest house in Stone Harbor.  Sound system, heated pool and an elevator for the old guys.  He’s a bit nervous about the damage deposit.  Seems to me this year’s winner ought to be required to dive into that pool fully clothed.
