White Water Rafting Trip - May 22nd

We are starting a new event this spring to provide an opportunity for undergraduate brothers and alumni to interact outside of State College. With that in mind, we are pleased to announce that a brotherhood Whitewater Rafting Trip is being held the weekend of May 22nd, 2010 in Ohio Pyle State Park outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Whitewater Rafting on Saturday, May 22:
Cost is confirmed at $65 per person (plus $5 parking fee) for the rafting trip. The trip will take 5-6 hours and includes a lunch break around the halfway mark. Depending on how many people we have for the trip, we’ll either be starting at 11:30am or 1:30pm – I will not know for sure until I have final numbers and can make the reservation. For more details on what to bring and what’s included, go tohttp://www.laurelhighlands.com/faq/index.cfm - we’ll be rafting on the Lower Yough River. I’d like to mention again that you are welcome to bring family and friends to this event.

Camping on Friday, May 21:
Cost is $15 per person for the night. We’ll be in a group campsite with tables and a fire ring, and room for everyone’s tents. I will bring some basic camping snacks for around the fire, and alcohol is permitted, so BYOB if you are of age. We’ll be able to set up the site as people arrive throughout the late afternoon and evening. We’ll head into town around 7pm for dinner at a local restaurant, to be determined at a later time.

If you are planning to join us for one or both of the events described above, please send me a direct message to confirm how many will be in your party. I will be making the reservations on Monday, May 3, so make sure to message me by Sunday, May 2, to confirm. I’ll be paying up front for the camping, so please bring cash if you will be joining us. For rafting, I’ll be setting up a reservation with the rafting company, and you will have 48 hours to call up and pay with a credit card (I will post the info for the confirmation on this page once it is made). Please understand that I don’t want to put what may be close to $1000 on my card up front, in case people don’t show.

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to send me a message. We’re going to have a ton of fun this weekend, so I hope you’ll join us.
