Support THON and Theta Chi's Dancers
Brothers,
The THON season is upon us and the undergraduate brothers would love to encourage alumni to support our dancers from the stands. This year's THON begins on Friday, Friday, February 19 and continues through Sunday, February 21. The brothers representing us on the dance floor are..
Dancing requires a great amount of emotional support and seeing alumni brothers in the stands will be sure to help motivate the dancers. We are able to offer space at the house for anyone interested. This will help avoid the hassle of finding a hotel room during such a large event. There is also an online webcast during the event at thon.org if you are unable to make it to State College.
This year, Theta Chi is dancing for a five-year-old girl named Carly.
In February 2009, Carly was diagnosed with a tumor in her brainstem called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. It is the rarest type of childhood brain cancer and is inoperable. Carly is currently undergoing treatments at Hershey Medical Center.
If you are unable to make it for the event, there are also ways to donate online. To do so, go to thon.org and click 'Donate Now' on the homepage. Fill out the information and make sure that under 'Organization Credited', Theta Chi is selected. Last year, we raised over $16,000 and we are trying to increase that total this year. Every little bit helps kids like Carly and helps to find a cure for childhood cancer.
For the kids,
