Theta Chi Loses Outstanding Leader
…It seemed particularly appropriate that two of Fred's oldest friends in Theta Chi were able to stand at the side of his grave, George V. Catuna, Delta, and George W. Chapman, Omega. George Catuna, who was national president in 1917-18 and 1919-26, had known Fred for more than 40 years, even before Fred was a member of Theta Chi. For many years they worked closely together on the Grand Chanter and together struggled through the early years of expansion. George Chapman had known Fred for more than 32 years. or before George had become a mem-ber of the fraternity. He and Fred were closely associated in fraternity work during the last twenty years in the expansion program, the Beta Kappa merger, the difficult war years. and the post-war rehabilitation of the fraternity….
