Omega Alumni Total 14,840 Miles
When fraternity spirit prompts a group of men to travel a total of 14,840 miles to attend a Theta Chi meeting, that's something to write about.
The occasion was the annual Founders' Day meeting and dinner held by Omega Chapter April 6, at Pennsylvania State College. Thirty-five alumni members of the chapter traveled a total of 7,420 miles to get there and would travel as much to get home again, making a total of 14,840 miles, or an aver-age of 424 miles per man.
Omega's spacious dining room was taxed to accommodate the actives, alumni, and guests, who included Executive Secretary A. H. Aldridge, National Chaplain Bellinger Dunham, two brothers from Kappa, and one from Alpha Mu.
Following the dinner a short meeting was held by the active chapter, and the new officers were installed by Brother Aldridge. Then with John Bowman, president of the Alumni Association, acting as master of ceremonies, the regular Founders' Day get-together was held with a number of short talks by actives and alumni members. Brother Dunham talked interestingly of his varied fraternity experiences, and the gathering was brought to a close with an inspiring talk by Brother Aldridge on "Founders of the Fraternity."
Later the rushing committee and the Alumni Council met with Brother Aldridge to discuss the ever important subject of rushing, and daybreak was only a few hours away when this meeting broke up.
Most of the visiting group stay-ed over until after dinner on Sunday.
